Hi *waves* Don't know how much I will be posting here, my time is stretched as it is but thanks to Bonorattle (sorry I don't know name formating here) I have an account.

*cheers*

If you've given me your address for a Christmas Card, would you mind terribly taking a moment and filling out this poll?

I want to cater (as much as possible) to all my Friends and give you all a choice on what theme and "gifts" you would like with your card.

I'm running on limited time, I'd like to have these in the mail by Saturday.

Please note that on Question #1 and #3 you can answer multiple times.

PS-I lost my address book so if I had your address last year, I don't have it anymore!

Comments are screened, leave your address if I don't have it already

Huggles!

Today is Picture Day for Mikey at school. He was so adorable this morning I had to take pictures and share. We've been practicing on his smile for the camera. He now says "Eeeeez" and slams his eyes shut. It's hilarious.

SO now I'm going to share some Mommy gushing my baby boy is my whole world.

Can you handle the cute? )

PS-Waking up at 5:50 to pray to the porcelain god. NOT COOL

Hi Everyone *waves*

I suppose I should get started, there's some updates on a number of things plus I have my Family Vacation Picspam and one that is rather silly that the lovelies from [livejournal.com profile] hpcon_envy will love as requested by the lovely and never duplicated [livejournal.com profile] lulabelle72

1) Went to the doctor today. Got some good news for once!

My gall bladder is all right!!!

-Yes I breathed a sigh of relief with that one. The doc then asked if my hernia still hurts, which it does, just not as painful as before.

-I'm scheduled for surgery towards the end of next month.

-I'd be lying if I didn't say I was frightened but somehow the thought of no longer having this pain in my belly button and being able to work out again trumps all!

2) I'm taking my cat Sonic to the vet tomorrow. He's about 12 years old and has been dropping weight like crazy in the past couple of months. He eats and goes potty regularly so I'm worried.

-My Veternarian training (of which I have none) tells me that Sonic has Hyperthyroidism. Tomorrow they are going to run a Geriatric Check on him (who knew there was such a thing lol)

3) Mikey started school today, he's officially in Kindergarten!!

-He did really, really well. I was complimented on how aware and attentive he was today. THis is a big deal because one of Mikey's major educational goals is to get him to sit still and attend to a task for longer than 10 seconds!

-He showed me today that he can not only operate a computer but that he also nows how to point and click with a mouse. Plus he can play "Memory" on the computer with Upper and Lower case letters. I wanted to cry, i was so proud of him!

4) OK on with the Scott Family Picspam and vacation update. (Try to ignore the few pictures of me, I am horrified at myself but am making progress on getting my body back to where it should be)

PLEASE BEWARE THIS HAS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PICTURES!

I've come to the point where I am just so behind in reading LJ that I need to make some cuts and revert back to "Friends Only" status

Some communities I don't pay attention to anymore and members of my F-list who are inactive or that in the past year I've kind of lost touch with.

My LJ existence has evolved so much since I started it last February. I have opened up myself beyond the House MD fandom. There really aren't enough hours in the day to keep up with everything and everyone.

As many of you saw last night, the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince traler was released last night.

I was on [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt at the time and got caught up in the Epic Harry Potter post (the last I saw it was up to 43 pages) I was laughing so hard I almost peed myself.

The Macros and pictures that were being posted were brilliant. I copied some and felt I had to share. They're like LOL CATs on Harry Potter Crack featuring Snape, Harry, Voldemort and about everyone.

I hope you enjoy :) Nothing like a little levity to brighten the day up!

MTV is developing a remake of 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, reports Variety.

Lou Adler, executive producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.

The new version will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.

The director and casting decisions have yet to be announced. The original starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf.

How do you bake a cake full of win??

Add Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry with a dash of John Cleese. Bake on 350 for 45 minutes. Best served fresh out of the oven.

Please. please, please don't let this one be true:

ET breaks the news that comedian George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, his longtime publicist said. He was 71.

Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems.

Carlin has more than 20 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, numerous TV and movie roles, and three best-selling books to his credit. Last year, he celebrated his 50th year in show business, and he had just finished his last HBO special in March, "It's Bad for Ya."

I've noticed recently that my Friends List has become very diversified in the past few months. I joined LJ in the beginning as a way into the House MD fandom, I never could imagine that it would expand into other areas of my life.

If you would please fill out this poll so I can gather a base of what actors/fandoms you all are interested in.

A million Thank You's from me to you *hugs*

I was floating around youtube and stumbled across this video.

I'm dedicating it to [livejournal.com profile] flyingpigs_live because she tells me I don't have enough fucking Jason Isaacs lol. I <3 you

And for all my F-list who love Mr. Isaacs.

This is a video compiling some moments from Brotherhood Season 1. It's definitely Not Safe For Work and not just because of the violence, you'll know why at about 53 seconds into the show.

I think I have a defect in me, usually violence bothers me but damn, not anymore lol.
calumfan: (jasonisaacs)
After a long and trying day emotionally imagine my glee when I arrived home and found "Brotherhood" Disc 1 starring Jason Isaacs in my mailbox.

I've seen bits and pieces of the show but never in its entirety.

Let me just say this:

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!

Sure, I admit I started watching for Jason but I was pleasantly surprised at how gripping and well done this show is. The entire cast is brilliant and the acting is phenomenal.

It's a little known series from Showtime that is going into it's 3rd season. It was renewed on the strength of how good the show is instead of ratings. It was also named by Entertainment Weekly (I believe don't quote me on that) as one of the best underrated shows on TV.

Here's a quick synopsis courtesy of www.imdb.com

Set in an Irish neighbourhood in Providence, the series reflects around two brothers on opposite sides of the law: one a gangster (Jason Isaacs) and the other a politician (Jason Clarke).

I will warn you, the show is VERY violent and VERY dark. There are no real good guys in this show. It depicts the various sides of the human condition quite admirably. Michael (Jason's character) is my favorite and to me the most likable even though he's part of the Irish Mafia. It's like The Sopranos except set in Rhode Island with Irish gangsters instead of Italian.

Did I mention it's VERY violent?

On a total shallow note, not only do I get to hear dear Jason say "Fuck" a lot while looking gorgeous with his natural almost black hair with those crystal blue eyes but he also pulls off a Rhode Island (similar to Boston) accent. Hearing "Wicked Pissed" come out of his mouth sent me into a fit of giggles.

I'll stop gushing now lol

Happy Tuesday!

I’m feeling extraordinarily random today and want some pic!spams so stay tuned after my ramblings for the hotness. (Or skip down to it, you know, whatever lol.)

1) I finished watching "The End of the Affair" last night; it was a truly beautiful movie. Not only was the acting superb but the storyline especially at the end was fabulous.

-It’s a story of love, jealousy, devotion and faith, although the religious undertones do not beat you about the head.

-Of course while watching it, Hubby was in the room and flat out said (during one of the numerous graphic love scenes) "Is this a freaking porno??" He never fails to make me laugh.

2) Speaking of the aforementioned movie above, I’ve decided to read the novel from which it was based.

-I find the writer Graham Greene fascinating. His early works were known for their Catholic undertones although he did not live his life according to the faith.

-This little tidbit intrigued me the most as found on Wikipedia:

He supplemented his novelist's income with freelance journalism, book and film reviews for “The Spectator” and co-editing the magazine "Night and Day" which folded in 1937 shortly after Greene's film review of "Wee Willie Winkie" featuring nine-year-old Shirley Temple, cost the magazine a lost libel lawsuit. Greene's review claimed that Temple displayed "a certain adroit coquetry which appealed to middle-aged men"; it is now considered one of the first criticisms of the sexualisation of children for entertainment.

-My boss and I had been discussing this exact topic today because she had a very young daughter and I have a step daughter who just reached teenage status. There is a certain innocence that I had at this age that is gone today.

3) I’m training in another department today after lunch. Heaven help me, I’ll be away from my PC. *cries*

4) I really wish my leg would stop vibrating under my desk. I haven’t even had that much caffeine today.

5) This Promo picture owns my soul. It’s absolutely gorgeous on an artistic level to me. So much emotion and meaning transpires here:

Photobucket

6) On with the important stuff, the pic!spam’s!! I am dedicating these to some of my favorite lovely ladies on my F-list.

-For [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle some Greg House. You need so Hugh lovin’ to make it through tonight!
-For [livejournal.com profile] color_me_verde I give you Alan Rickman as "The Interrogator" from Closetland. I know I promised you this a while ago, I’m here to deliver!
-For [livejournal.com profile] flyingpigs_live Here’s some Jason Isaacs. I don’t want another question as to where he is lol! *hugs*

HAPPY FRIDAY TO YOU ALL!!

1) I'm watching "Blades of Glory" on HBO tonight and I have no idea why. I'm such a dork because damn it, it makes me laugh. Shoot me now.

-Damn it if my neighbor's son doesn't look like Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) right down to the gaping mouth with the teeth that hang out.

2) This photo made my day:

Photobucket

-I need to marry Jennifer Morrison, she is flawless.

3) My husband called me last night expounding on the brilliance of Stephen Fry and his podcast.

-Apparently all my gushing about how amazing and smart Stephen is was lost on Hubby. No, he took it upon himself last evening to tell ME that after listening to the podcast that he had never "Heard anyone speak with such eloquence and sound so smart" oh and that Stephen "Has an unbeliveable vocabulary in addition to being very funny"

-Gee, I've only been telling you that forever honey! Bless his heart though, he's now a total Stephen Fry fanboy!!

4) Do you want to know the definition of FAIL?

-Having to carry a 55 pound dead weight sleeping child from your car to the house in an absolute nightmarish rain and wind storm. SUCKED

5) I always see people do the "Friday Fiver" questions. I decided to do my own "Friday 5" with a twist.

-My Friday 5 will be a pic!spam of 5 hotties either in or out of character.

Welcome to my Inaugural Friday 5

Ian from Flight of the Phoenix, Michael Caffee from Brotherhood, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, Wolverine from The X-Men and Indiana Jones

Nothing like a little eye candy for the weekend )
