Today is Picture Day for Mikey at school. He was so adorable this morning I had to take pictures and share. We've been practicing on his smile for the camera. He now says "Eeeeez" and slams his eyes shut. It's hilarious.

SO now I'm going to share some Mommy gushing my baby boy is my whole world.

Can you handle the cute? )

PS-Waking up at 5:50 to pray to the porcelain god. NOT COOL

Hi Everyone *waves*

I suppose I should get started, there's some updates on a number of things plus I have my Family Vacation Picspam and one that is rather silly that the lovelies from [livejournal.com profile] hpcon_envy will love as requested by the lovely and never duplicated [livejournal.com profile] lulabelle72

1) Went to the doctor today. Got some good news for once!

My gall bladder is all right!!!

-Yes I breathed a sigh of relief with that one. The doc then asked if my hernia still hurts, which it does, just not as painful as before.

-I'm scheduled for surgery towards the end of next month.

-I'd be lying if I didn't say I was frightened but somehow the thought of no longer having this pain in my belly button and being able to work out again trumps all!

2) I'm taking my cat Sonic to the vet tomorrow. He's about 12 years old and has been dropping weight like crazy in the past couple of months. He eats and goes potty regularly so I'm worried.

-My Veternarian training (of which I have none) tells me that Sonic has Hyperthyroidism. Tomorrow they are going to run a Geriatric Check on him (who knew there was such a thing lol)

3) Mikey started school today, he's officially in Kindergarten!!

-He did really, really well. I was complimented on how aware and attentive he was today. THis is a big deal because one of Mikey's major educational goals is to get him to sit still and attend to a task for longer than 10 seconds!

-He showed me today that he can not only operate a computer but that he also nows how to point and click with a mouse. Plus he can play "Memory" on the computer with Upper and Lower case letters. I wanted to cry, i was so proud of him!

4) OK on with the Scott Family Picspam and vacation update. (Try to ignore the few pictures of me, I am horrified at myself but am making progress on getting my body back to where it should be)

PLEASE BEWARE THIS HAS A HUGE AMOUNT OF PICTURES!

My Boys

Photobucket

Click here, you know you can't resist the cuteness of my son )

5) FInally, for my [livejournal.com profile] hpcon_envy gals, here's some Ticky Box p0rn in picture form as requested:

Touch the Ticky Box, you know you want to )

*BOING BOING BOING*

Too much coffee already today which means EPIC POST AHEAD!

1) I missed out on the whole “Interview” meme so I decided to make a variation of my own.

Comment to this post with a question or questions for me. I will answer it and the rest in my next post

2) My son went to school today.

I got him dressed and then asked, “Are you ready to go to school baby?”

He hoped up, turned off the TV and to the front door while waving and saying “Bye”

Thank God because I really didn’t want to get a phone call today stating that he needed to go home.

3) I want to go to see “Iron Man” but I can’t until the 24th. *pouts* But I wanna go now!!

4) I have decided that Pretzels are the world’s perfect food.

5) This is exactly what crosses my mind when I have to go fill up at the gas station:

Photobucket

Speaking of which, how exactly do those older contests that boasted “Free Gas For Life” work now? Those companies are probably going bankrupt with fuel being almost $4.00/gallon.

6) I have to go shopping for my boss’s birthday tonight and for Mother’s Day. My hubby bought me this for Mother’s Day!

Street kings

He truly loves me don’t ya think?

7) Hugh on Craig Ferguson rules all. He’s beyond adorable especially when he’s relaxed and comfortable. I love the “playful” Hugh.

Photobucket

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marykir for the screencap

8) This video made me snarfle and yes I know in this state it’s not entirely difficult to do it but still. I’ve never seen Daniel Craig be so funny before.

Yeah I’ve seen him naked and I still wouldn’t kick him out of bed. lol
calumfan: (cute)
*sigh* My husband's friend works for a Labrador Rescue group. He called us last evening to see if we wouldn't mind caring for a stray for the weekend.

As you know I have 2 beagles so integrating another dog into the fold made me nervous. My smaller dog had issues because he has a bit of Napoleon Complex, otherwise every one is fine and content. Well as long as I don't pay Foster too much attention, God when did my pooches become such Drama Queens?

So Meet Foster, he is about 3 years old and a yellow lab/Bloodhound mix. He follows me around obsessively.

(Sorry for the quality, the pic and video were done with my cell phone.)

Guess who’s caffeinated??

I know these are [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle’s favorite types of posts, the ones when I am hyped up and deliciously random. Because of this, I have brought out her favorite icon which is a pretty good representation of how I feel right now.

1) I can’t seem to turn off my brain today and the sensor on my “appropriate things to say while at work” seems to be broken.
-Blurting out "I hate this fucking computer" is probably not the smartest idea nor is asking permission to stab someone who laughs like a hyena.
-I do get bonus points for causing my boss to christen her desk with water after one of my more "compelling" statements regarding the stunted mental capacity of some humans.

2)If I read one more headline that shouts: HUGH LAURIE EXPERIMENTED WITH VICODIN one more time I think I may really go on that stabbing spree.

-The caffeine today has already made me shanky, I don’t need the stupidity of the press to tip me over the edge. Seriously, how old is this information? 2 years? Maybe even 3? --HE ADMITED TO TAKING ONE PILL PEOPLE!! IT WAS ONE PILL ONCE!! *facepalm* I give up.

3) Speaking of Hugh. How adorable is he as Dr. Cockroach in the poster for "Monsters VS. Aliens" ?

Photobucket

-It's not like I'm all hot and bothered over the cockroach or anything especially because a) that would be slightly creepy and b) it IS a cockroach! If you’ve ever encountered one you know that they are gross but he does make that nasty little (sometimes huge) insect much more tolerable.
-If only the ones that run rampant in Florida were voiced by a smooth British Gentleman.

4) This has, by far, become one of my favorite pictures and I can’t place a finger on why. I view it like a piece of art; it’s just gorgeous and humbling at the same time. (Wait, does that even make sense. Oh who the hell cares! I love the picture)

Photobucket

5) I love asparagus. Is that strange?

6) It always astounds me that I can still misspell the same words on an email that I send out daily. What’s even worse is that the word "Competitive" has to be typed out twice and the 1st time I get it right; the 2nd time, not so much.
Photobucket

7) The dress I bought that I spoke of my last entry. [livejournal.com profile] nicolejacks wanted a look at it. Not the greatest picture but it’s scrunchy at the top and flowy at the bottom.

Photobucket

OK, I’ll stop babbling now, I think the caffeine is starting to wear off, OFF TO GET MORE!!!

PS- I love you all! Photobucket

NEW YORK - After being surrounded by the dramatic heavyweight stars of the Oscars, Jon Stewart will play host again, this time amid a bevy of comedians.

Stewart will host the second biannual "Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education" on April 13 at the Beacon Theater in New York. The show will air live on Comedy Central (8 p.m. EST).

The night will feature standup routines, sketches and short films from a gluttony of comic talent, including Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler.

It's the second such benefit and was organized in part due to Robert Smigel, whose son, Daniel, is autistic. Smigel's most famous character, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, will also be attendance.

The night will raise money for schools and education programs for autistic children and adults. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the advocacy group Autism Speaks. The first "Night of Too Many Stars," held in October 2006, raised more than $2.6 million.

It was also the first event to air live on Comedy Central. This year's broadcast will also be streamed online the day after. A $1.99 download of the show will be available on iTunes and xBox Live Marketplace, with all proceeds going to charity.

Also appearing will be Matthew Broderick, Jonah Hill, Kevin James, Rosie O'Donnell and Susie Essman.

As most of you know my 5 year old Mikey has Autism which has rendered him non-verbal and learning disabled. He is the light of my life :)

I tell people I meet all the time that everyone knows someone who has been touched by this disease. If you didn't before, you can say it now.

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means, Hugh!picspam. Today’s edition will be a little different in honor of [livejournal.com profile] maybebaby1280’s birthday. You’re a kinky little hottie and you know it, luvs you lots! ;)

Before the main event, you’re going to have to sit through a few ramblings on my part.

A) My deepest and sincerest appreciation to all of my flist for putting up with my behavior the past few days. I try not to talk about/dwell/complain about my daily life. I’m not one to seek out and burden people with my problems. That being said, I apologize for any stress or worry I may have caused. I love you all.
-I won’t wax poetic and go into lengthy explanations but I did go to my doctor today, I was put back on my medicine, got lab results, discussed what’s going on inside me and am on a path to bettering myself in the long run.

B) Dear Fuel Company X: When I call you a simple question as to whether or not you have our draft information for Friday available yet it is a waste of time/money/resources to create a help desk ticket with the simple purpose to give me this information. Furthermore, does the said help ticket really need to travel through 3 departments before reaching the proper destination Accounts Receivable. Common sense dictates that if I’m looking for information regarding money your company is going to RECEIVE from mine, then you would go straight to the department whose job is to keep track of the money your company RECEIVES! /endrant

C) When did women not only get so disgusting but also stupid? In the past month we have had numerous issues with our bathroom system stemming from the ladies facilities. Apparently the bright neon green signs in every stall and on the exit door that state “Do Not Flush Any Feminine Hygiene Products down the Toilets at Any Time” are not enough. A company wide memo has now had to go out re-iterating this fact. Silly me, I learned in 5th grade that pads with adhesive should never be flushed. And did I mention my office only has like 20 people in it? *facepalm*

D) I promised [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle that I will watch Part 1 of “All or Nothing At All” tonight. Pray for me people because I’m still recovering from Jools and she states that Leo is twice as deadly. My “dream Hugh” in the flesh. *whimpers*

E) I’m going to my first “Brown Bag” party on Saturday. I’m nervous, I know they’re supposed to be a lot of fun but regardless of my behavior on here, I am a shy one, easily given to blushing.

F) Stephen Fry is still the most amazing man alive.

G) Sun Chips Honey Graham flavored are sweet, low fat, lower carb crack.

H) Onward with the Humpday Hugh!picspam special edition for [livejournal.com profile] maybebaby1280’s birthday featuring Jennifer Morrison as Cameron.
The usual disclaimer, heart, lungs, brain combustion avoid at all costs………..and if you can’t handle some House/Cameron/Jennifer hotness
Happy Birthday, love Hugh! )
calumfan: (houseguitar)

Good Lord, I don't even understand what my title of this entry means *dies*

It’s the Humpday before Thanksgiving (for us Americans) but this day has been made of fail so before I give you the feast of pictures, I give you the cold turkey.

-----I apologize for being moody and crabby about last night’s episode; sick child and good mood do not go together very well.

-----I apparently graduated from the “Britney Spears School  to drive good” as evidenced by my close call with a black Honda Accord this morning. I was at a stop sign and proceeded to take a left onto the road without a second thought to the other car careening towards me.  God bless anti-lock brakes.

-In my defense, the sun was brutally bright and I honestly didn’t see the Accord.

-----Was late getting into work, by 7 minutes, and had a voice mail waiting for me from my most annoying Gas Station owner.  He expects everything ASAP, even though he knows there’s a minimum of 24 hours to wait. Just like a man.

-----How do certifiable idiots get jobs and work for major fuel corporations dealing with banking? STUPID PEOPLE SHOULDN’T BREED PERIOD!

-----I forgot to pull the ham out to defrost it for tomorrow *facepalm*

-----Hubby’s coming home today *happy dance*

-----“LA Woman” by the Doors followed by “Baba O’Riley” by The Who really does make it better

-----*Squee* Just received my copy of "The Young Visiters" from amazon :D

----And now for what you all really want, Hugh!picspam
Usual disclaimer, if you can't handle extreme heat and have a weak heart, DO NOT VIEW!

calumfan: (huh?hugh)
If you don't know, I was quoting the brilliant movie "Friday" in my title, I really do still have a job!

Not much going on this Friday, I worked, I email tagged while at work, learned I have a ghetto cell phone and HUbby's not home so I get to write some tonight which I am thrilled about.

A while ago I placed an order for a new banner, I wanted a little Jools from MI-5 love. [livejournal.com profile] lime_and_salt posted mne today. It is beyond anything I could have hoped for!

And a million thank you's to the amazing [livejournal.com profile] hughsbeautiful for my previous layout. My "Hughbunny in Paradise" will be forever in my heart.

calumfan: (seriously?)
1) You know something is meant to be when you learn from your friend that she was going to dial your number the exact moment you ring her. Scary but leads credence to the therory of Twinnery M'colleague!

2) I realized today that for all my protests or denials, I still tend to view certain situations and people with rose colored glasses.  Thanks to a random comment on the phone I realized, you know what, you are right!  The glasses have come off and certain things are viewed differently and I'm OK.

Life isn't perfect and neither are people.

Never place someone on a pedestal so high that they are bound to fall off no matter how much you think you know them.

Don't fight the battle if you are the only one willing to take a stand.

3) I hate work sometimes. I hate being asked a question that there's no way in Hell I can answer accurately.  Thank God I love my boss and she's one of my greatest friends.

4) I really need to keep going to the gym. I can pinpoint my slip into further sadness by when I stopped working out.  It felt great tonight and I can't wait to go again.

5) My kick ass random iPod track selection while I was working out.  It greatly assisted in my epiphany listed above.  Here's the songs.
-If you wear that velvet dress - Bono and Jools Holland (this song is teh sex, it has inspired me beyond belief)
-Be Nice - Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry
-Good Life - Kayne West
-Feel Good INC - Gorillaz
-Figured You Out - Nickelback (Yes I'm ashamed I have a Nickelback song on my iPod, but it's a dirty song)
-Shut Up and Drive - Rhianna
-Just Like a Pill - P!nk
-Rock Your Body - Justin Timberlake
-Minnie the Moocher - BFTV
-Control - Puddle of Mudd (another delightfully dirty song)
-Deja Vu - Beyonce'
-Apologize - Timbaland featuring Onerepublic
-Big Pimpin'/Papercut - Jay-z/Linkin Park mash-up
-Da Baddest Bitch - Trina
-Semi Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
-Darling Nikki - Foo Fighters (Do I need to explain why this song is hot?!)
-March of the Pigs - Nine Inch Nails

Yeah this song list pwned me.

6) *snort* My son's Baby Einstein DVD just said "WOMBAT" LOL
calumfan: (Evilmonkey)
You ever wake up and know the day just isn't going to go your way?

Well today is one of those days.....

1) My beautiful son decided to wake up almost 2 hours early and my husband who had to actually get up at that time looked at me and said, "Hey Mikey's up, can you put him back to bed?" Yeah, apparently he must have been still in the fog of sleep to ask me that, well at least that's the excuse I'm going to use because if not he probably would have been maimed.

2) Couldn't get my stupid shower to heat up today, so after 10 minutes of trying, I finally got a lukewarm mist and was in and out as quickly as possible.

3) Unfortunately, that in and out was about 10 minutes after I was supposed to leave for school drop off and work. *facepalm*

4) None of our morning information was transferred over from our stores, hence work that should have been completed by 9am, still hasn't been finished at 1pm.  Not to mention the fact that the server here failed to recognize me when I initially signed in.

5) It's not all bad though, last night was beautiful, the air was breezy and temp was around 70.
--------I got to sit on my swing outside and watch my son attempt to ride his bike. I know that doesn't seem like much but Mikey's never been able to peddle before at all, his fine motor skills are sorely lacking and it doesn't come naturally to him (mostly a by-product of his Autism) He tried so hard and started getting the hang of it.
--------Then he played in the grass and goofed around in yard, doing things a "normal" kid does. It was beautiful, he was so happy and alive. It made me want to weep.
--------Sometimes we all just need to sit back and re-evaluate what's important to us and block out all the BS.

6) Because my day has been lacking and Anna and Lindsey wanted this as much as I....

I present Hughsday Picspam!

7) I love Evil Monkey so he will be my icon because the Evil Monkey Knows All :) (and yes he is property of the Family Guy)
calumfan: (aladdin)
Isn't it amazing that in one instant you can be sad or lonely and then in the next meet people that you connect so instantly with that you know that your friendship was meant to be?

Thank you to my friends, it seems silly but you mean the world to me and I can't wait for our further adventures that are bound to occur :)
calumfan: (braindumb)
It's almost 3am and I am still awake, I guess this is what happens when you don't eat al day, don't take your meds and drink a bottle of Mountain Dew at midnight.

1) Need to wave *Hi* to all new members and old (well not older but less new) members of my flist, welcome to my insanity!!

2) Just got off the phone with [personal profile] bonorattle we literally killed the battery on her home phone.  Of course this was after she literally killed the battery on her cell phone with [profile] starleigh

2a) I have now learned that I have free 24/7 long distance with my Comcast phone plan AND free 3-way calling.  Yeah no good is going to come from this nugget of information, I expect many 3-ways while hubby is away at work ;)

3) Plans are being laid for forthcoming trips with friends, I am so excited I can't wait!!  Girls Weekends Hooray!!!!

4) My dear friend Michelle had her baby yesterday, Kianna Marie, I got to see her today and brought my son to the hospital.  He was a riot and brought tears to my eyes when he had this exchange with my sister who was holding Kianna
Sis: Mikey do you want to see the baby
Mikey: Please
Sis: Be careful, be gentle
Mikey: *leans down and gently touches the baby's hair*

Yeah my heart melted. I even held Kianna which was scary because even though I have a child,Mikey was in the ICU for 10 days before I was able to hold him, I've never held a "newborn"

5) I must apologize for all recent emo or cryptic posts. Sometimes I have a hard time and speak before I think or fully comprehend the situation. I've deleted them, I wasn't looking for drama or being an attention junkie, just a knee-jerk reaction to information that when the dust settles I realize I have done something too rashly. So here's the big apology:

I promise to keep my emotions in check and not post anything cryptic that may cause undue stress or worry on anyone in my flist. I love you all more than you know and I just feel horrible.

6) I have to add these because dang it, "Guardian angels" was love

7) Not to mention the pics of Hugh from the Oct 17th presser

I'm home from vacay and let me say that I need a vacation to recover from my vacation!

Much love to my twinneth [personal profile] bonorattle for my lovely surprise waiting for me in the mail when I returned today.  To paraphrase my hubby's outburst when he saw the copy of "Maybe Baby":
Me: Oh look what I got :)
Hubby: Let me see
Me: *waiting for his expression*
Hubby: *scaning cover* THAT'S Hugh Laurie ?! O_O
Me: Yeah
Hubby: He looks different.......*the green of jealousy starts to consume him*
Me: *Blushing* Ummm, yeah, that's him *blushing more, trying to cover the fact that Hugh in this movie is particularly my biggest weakness*

To anyone who takes any type of seritonin medications, DO NOT forget to take your Paxil (or medication equivilent) with you on vacay.  The withdrawl symptoms....yeah, they are that bad.  I can't believe I am able to type, it is THAT bad.

And yes I missed Tuesday's episode, will be watching tonight!!

calumfan: (housesexybastar)
So I'm back for a couple days from my week-long Orlando vacation.  We went to Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney yesterday and went shopping today.  We're home now but leaving promptly after work on Tuesday.  I've misse you all!!

And just a shameless excuse to use this awesome House/Cameron banner by [profile] lime_and_salt

calumfan: (youthink)
 1. A bout of Red Tide and a Nor'Easter combined together do NOT equal a fun time.  Allergies and breathing have been pretty difficult this weekend and I don't even live right at the beach.

2. I love a rain storm, I DO NOT love a miserable, gray, windy, on/off rainstorm.  It sucks.

3. Don't pay attention to cooking instructions on a prepared uncooked whole chicken, always call mom instead.  The package said, cook @ 350 for 25-30 minutes.  Yeah they probably should have mentioned the fact that it's 25-30 PER POUND!

4. I now have severe crushes not only on Hugh Laurie, but also Jennifer Morrison and Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs. Expect Jenn!picspam on Mondays, Hugh!picspam on Wednesdays and Mike!picspam on Fridays.

5. I miss my husband horribly, and love him more than I realized. I thought with him out to sea I would get some work around the house done and plenty of fic writing accomplished.  Yeah, that hasn't happened.  Without him here apparently I have no inspiration or capacity to feel characters like I should.  I want to stay in bed all day and just hug and kiss my son all day long.

6. HDTV fuckin' rules!!!! Guh, I thought watching Hugh on House was amazing in HD and then I got to watch the NFL today.  I bow down to the HD gods
calumfan: (stupidleno)
Why is it on what I consider a National Holiday for me (House Premiere) do I have to come home to a fucked up home and messages on the voice mail.

1) I want to make rice, mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup for my son and I for dinner.  No sense in making huge meals, it's just he and I.  Get al the pots out, got the rice going and the mushrooms sauteing.

Guess what?!

NO FUCKING SOUP!!!!

2) Check the messages and find one from our insurance company stating I need to call them IMMEDIATELY.  Huh?  Hubby talked to them over a month ago.  I call, yeah, apparently they haven't deducted our insurance payment since July.  Ummm what about the person Hubby talked to.  Oh well he took the credit card information but never processed the payment.

If I don't pay like $350.00 by October 1st our insurance is gone. Yeah because I have that much laying around. *facepalm* Had to put it on a credit card and now the payments will automatically come out again starting Nov.  And the original asshole that hubby talked to couldn't manage this?

3) Receive an urgent message from the doctors office, very cryptic message.  "We need you to call central appointments immediately."  Oh God, did something come up bad on my blood tests? Is my thyroid screwed up or any number of things.  I called immediately after I hang up with the insurance agent.

Me: Hi I received a message stating I needed to call immediately for an appointment.  It was rather cyrptic, was there something wrong with my tests?

Nurse: Let's see....Oh we need to schedule you with a nutritionist.

Me: Huh?! That's it, I requested that appointment weeks ago and already have an appointment.

Nurse: Oh, so do you need me to schedule one?

Me: Uh no, thanks for everything.

*facepalm*

4) I just burned my mushrooms and my heart rate is sky high.

Is it 9pm yet?  Because Momma has a son to put to bed and a $25.00 bottle of wine chilling just for the occasion.  Just Hugh and I :)

And for my dear [profile] thisxrandomxlie and other Jennifer Morrison fans, here's a little Jennifer!picspam because even if she isn't on tonight, she's there in spirit!
