*iz ded* Thanks Jason
Jun. 13th, 2008 09:52 pmAfter a long and trying day emotionally imagine my glee when I arrived home and found "Brotherhood" Disc 1 starring Jason Isaacs in my mailbox.
I've seen bits and pieces of the show but never in its entirety.
Let me just say this:
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!
Sure, I admit I started watching for Jason but I was pleasantly surprised at how gripping and well done this show is. The entire cast is brilliant and the acting is phenomenal.
It's a little known series from Showtime that is going into it's 3rd season. It was renewed on the strength of how good the show is instead of ratings. It was also named by Entertainment Weekly (I believe don't quote me on that) as one of the best underrated shows on TV.
Here's a quick synopsis courtesy of www.imdb.com
Set in an Irish neighbourhood in Providence, the series reflects around two brothers on opposite sides of the law: one a gangster (Jason Isaacs) and the other a politician (Jason Clarke).
I will warn you, the show is VERY violent and VERY dark. There are no real good guys in this show. It depicts the various sides of the human condition quite admirably. Michael (Jason's character) is my favorite and to me the most likable even though he's part of the Irish Mafia. It's like The Sopranos except set in Rhode Island with Irish gangsters instead of Italian.
Did I mention it's VERY violent?
On a total shallow note, not only do I get to hear dear Jason say "Fuck" a lot while looking gorgeous with his natural almost black hair with those crystal blue eyes but he also pulls off a Rhode Island (similar to Boston) accent. Hearing "Wicked Pissed" come out of his mouth sent me into a fit of giggles.

I'll stop gushing now lol
