It’s Wednesday, it’s Humpday and it’s almost the beginning of the Holiday season (well for me at least. Some it started after Halloween)

ETA:

-I’ve decided for my own enjoyment of watching House that I am probably not going to read NON-FRIEND Metas. I respect all my flist's thoughts on the show. But after a while of reading so many written by people I don't know, the complaining about House can get to be a bit much. It’s nothing against anyone who posts one; I just don’t want my view of the show to be skewed by someone else’s opinion. I for one am loving House right now and hate to read about people’s disappointment in the episode. Compared to last year which I would like to wipe the memory of Season 3 (well except for Half-Wit and Merry Little Christmas) from my memory all together, Season 4 is amazing.

-Received multiple calls from [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle J last night; she was having a great time at the DMB show. She has another one tonight. She held the phone up so I could hear, it was amazing. She says she misses everyone

-Need some opinions. As you all know my son is Autistic and it is super difficult to buy any presents for him at Christmas and his birthday. We have a lot of family that likes to get him something, but he doesn’t play with “toys” or anything like that. Hubby and I have decided to purchase a swing set and bike for presents. Christmas is obviously on 12/25 and his birthday is 1/11. Is it wrong to ask for money towards his swing set instead receiving gifts?

-Don’t forget to send me your address to calumfan@yahoo.com if you would like to receive a little holiday cheer. I will be starting on Christmas Cards next week.

-I think I need psychological help, I am already super psyched for next Friday’s shopping extravaganza. Black Friday is a national holiday to me J

-Oh yeah, I guess everyone’s waiting for this huh. I tried to give a good variation on Hugh's different looks, all of which are adorable! J

Oh, no harm, no foul. I totally understand the need to cut down on reading certain stuff. Don't worry!

You know I love my flist and value your opinions. I wrote this at work and I was like, damn that's a little harsh. just going to a comm and reading complaint after complaint just drags me down!

*huggles my dear*

It could be considered socially "inappropriate" to ask for money instead of gifts, and people might get offended. I don't quite understand that, though, and I'm just speaking from what I've learned. Personally, though, I really don't see anything wrong with it. I imagine your family does understand your son is autistic, so they will *probably* be more accepting of it. I think it's more wrong to have them buy toys for him he is never going to play with when instead they can give money to contribute to a swing-set he will probably love to play on.

...Or maybe I'm just bias and totally rooting for the swing-set for him because man I totally love swing-sets. I had one when I was a kid and it was almost like, a gift from God. ]: I still wish I owned one now, haha. I love swings so much.

)8 That first Hugh picture is really, really hot...

I AM GLAD TO SEE MLC HAS YOUR APPROVAL. That's my favourite episode. Mostly every one I met seems to dislike it.

Can I have a Christmas card? (Lol, I think I'm like collecting them this year. It's compulsive. I asked for one from one person, and now it seems I have to ask for one from *everyone* who is offering them now so it'll be complete. And yes, I must ask first. I don't know why.)

My son has vestibular movement deficiency so he craves constant movement. Last year we got him 2 trampolines, one outside and a small one for his room. He loves them. He lacks the imagination to use regular "toys". My mom has already bought an aquarium light (with moving fish) to visually stimulate him as well as a counting coin bank because he loves cause and effect toys.

He has so many books and puzzles I really don't need anymore. It's just a tough situation, I know people mean well but he's not like his cousin, he doesn't know what to do with a Spiderman figure (even though he loves Spiderman)

MLC was one of my favorites last year, I thought Hugh was draing and brilliant in it. I wish he would have submited it for an emmy. One of my favorite scenes in the series as a whole is when House is detoxing and Cameron tends to his wounds because he truly is broken at that moment and the acting Hugh delivers in that moment is mesmerizing.

And of course you can have a Christmas card, just email me @ calumfan@yahoo.com with your name and address :)

Your son is totally making me feel more spectrum-y right now. (That... made no sense) I can't help but think how awesome all of those things are. )8 I had a small trampoline when I was a kid, too. (My parents didn't get a big one because they were always scared I was going to hurt myself somehow. I was a pretty sheltered child. Not to mention I really didn't have any friends... except... one... so I didn't get hurt a lot anyway.)

I would really just explain to them about it. If they get offended then, I don't know, I guess that's their problem. I have full trouble understanding the issue so I can't offer much advice. I don't think it's wrong at all, though, seriously. People buy presents to make people happy. Just tell them that all those other toys would not make your son happy.

By the way, responsible spectrum parents ~really~ touch my heart deep inside (...okay that sounds corny, but really) and I ~love~ seeing a parent accept their child as who they are. I've seen a lot of spectrum parents, who would seriously, keep buying their child toys the child doesn't like/know what to do with in an attempt to make the child "normal". Not to come off as rude, I'm sure you don't want your son to have autism, but I really detest people trying to take autistics and force them to be normal for the sake of other people, not the autistic. Especially in the case of a child.

YES YES, IAWTC. Hugh was amazing in that episode omg. )8 Just the entire acting was spot-on, so was the writing, the lighting... the entire cast did a fantastic job, not just Hugh. I was ~blown away~. And I've seen it about 20 times (I like to watch things over and over and over again. There are some episodes of certain shows I've seen over 50 times. And had every line memorized. I just get obsessed.)

Awesome (8 I will be doing that.

I haven't been reading anyone else's meta for a while, except for last night. I feel bad, because if I'm wanting others to comment in mine, then I should return the favour! Then again. I haven't posted mine in a while.

Anyway...

While I have been entertained this season, and I'm not annoyed with the flood of new characters, I'm left wondering when House turned from misanthrope to goofy bastard. I want my House to be broody damnit. His comments need that biting AND true kick that they had before. That's probably the last I'll say about that.

Yay Hugh pic!spam! I love the QI pic. I love them all, but you know, I love that blue and silver (light blue?) shirt he has. :D

I had to amend my post, I didn't want it to seem like I don't enjoy reading my flist's posts about the episode because I do. I just can't handle reading people bash the show that I love so much.

I miss House from Season 1 and 2 but I feel like he is moving back more towards that because he was almost downright unsympathetic in Season 3 except for MLC which is one of my fav episodes ever.

I love the QI picture and shirt, the girls at work think it's horrible, I think it's endearing and so totally Hugh.

Ah ok. Yeah, I understand that. I haven't been to places like TWoP in literally YEARS. Two to be exact.

MLC was good. I'm probably the only one who liked One Day, One Room. There are others I liked but I can't remember the titles right now so clearly it didn't make that much of an impression on me. I want to see more angst. I miss the angst. I want the bite back in the comments too. *sigh*

Its not horrible, I like that shirt! And you're right, it is totally Hugh. I've seen others that are far worse than that, but its cute anyway.

Okay, I'm glad that I don't feel alone in the "meta" thingy. I rarely ever read anyone's meta's regarding the episodes. Only because I form my own opinions of the show and characters that I 1) don't like people telling me they saw something different than I did, 2) don't like thinking beyond what I want to think about it. Does that make sense?

Its like if I said Hugh's eyes were blue, and you said they were light icy blue or cerulene blue, in the end his eyes are blue. It only matters what kind of blue we think they are. So meta's are fun for some people and others would rather just think what they want to think about what happened. Hell, some people might even say Hugh's eyes are gray! Then that throws everyone's ideas off.

I do, every now and then when I'm confused as to what was said or what happened, find my flist has some great thoughts about the episode. It sometimes helps when I don't get the inside joke about something.

I have to agree with you that I think S4 is just outstanding. I read someplace this morning that people thought House was too "joking and chasing women too much" for their taste...hmmm, seems to me that the show lost the "depressing" S3 tone, and has tipped towards the other end of the scale. Can't please everyone I guess....as for me, I'm lovin it!! I love this House. Playful, fun, joking, chasing women, and S4 Wilson is totally FTW!! I just hope the writer's strike doesn't effect where they leave off. Eh...my 2 cents worth for tonight. :D

Take it easy and I will be sending my name along for one of your christmas cards! I have my put little blurb out there on my journal, in case I might not have enough to do...

*hugs* Oh, and thanks for introducing me to Bonorattle. She's a real hoot! Luv her already!

Later,
Jo

Exactly!! I think sometimes that people look a little too deeply into the meaning of an arbitrary scene. It's like a multiple choice test. You're supposed to go with your initial gut instinct and NOT go back over the questions because then you over analyse and start to doubt what you initially thought was correct. Your doubts cloud your mind.

I like reading my flists thoughts, I mean I have fans of every character and pairing in my flist. It's not going to change how I feel about a situation or character.

Season 4 is amazing. There were a handful of great episodes in sesason 3 but over all it was too spastic and had no real identity. I'm enjoying it, I mean sure there are things I would like to see change but damn, on a whole, this is great. I personally LOVE S4 Wilson and Cameron. Even Chase doesn't get on my nerves as much. I love Taub, Kutner and Cole. Hell I even like 13 now.

Can't wait to send you a card.

As for [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle I'll let her know what you said, she's been at some Dave Matthews concerts the past few days but I've been talking to her non-stop :)

She is the greatest as you are my dear :)

I know what you mean about the META thing. I don't read many of them either. Too much negativity.
