Happy April 1st everyone.

I’m not much of an April Fools prankster so you don’t have to worry about any misinformation from me. I’ve seen enough misleading articles being passed around the internet already today that I have no desire to pull a fast one on anyone :)

1) I’m still recovering from my weekend out of town. We had a lot of fun. I had prepared myself to write an entire LJ entry regarding it and as soon as I went to type it up, the words just failed to burst forth. Hopefully tonight I will do better, plus I have plenty of pics and videos to share (If you’re interested in that type of thing)

2) I will be heading up to Target on my lunch break today to purchase my copy of Sweeney Todd. I’m so excited. I wasn’t able to view this movie in the theatre because my Hubby wouldn’t go because A) It’s a musical and B) He couldn’t deal with my squeeage over Judge Turpin.

3) While at Universal’s Islands of Adventure I checked out the construction on the new Harry Potter theme park, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”. It seems to be coming along rather nicely. The ground has been prepared and construction has begun. They have the area hidden pretty well so I only have a couple pictures and a video that I will post later this evening along with a more detailed description.

4) I am so happy, only 11 more days until I fly up to New Jersey to meet Lindsey/ [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle I’m pretty sure NJ will never be the same after this.

5) So we’re sitting here talking about obscure/non-popular 80’s movies. Here’s a list of some of them, see how many you’ve seen!

-The Wraith
-Night of the Comet
-Saturday the 14th
-Hiding Out
-My Best Friend is a Vampire
-Ghoulies
-Fright Night
-Vamp
-Clue
-Space Camp
-Killer Clowns from Outer Space
-All of Me
-The Incredible Shrinking Woman
-Uncle Buck
-The Great Outdoors
-Under the Rainbow
-Seems Like Old Times
-Overboard
-Cloak and Dagger
-The Monster Squad

Hi everyone, I trust you are having a glorious weekend.

Mine has been busy, I have spent the great part of it at my mother's house (and from the internet).

Today my husband and I have been cleaning fools. My house sans bedrooms is completely ceramic tiled. We have vacuumed, scrubbed and cleaned every ounce of tile. We've also re-arranged the living room set up. I'm feeling happy and accomplished.

Later today we'll be back at mom's for our Easter feast. I am making green bean casserole and some cherry cheesecake. I don't eat cheese cake so I figure this is the best thing to make :)

For all my Flist who celebrate Easter, I hope you have a fantastic day full of chocolate bunnies and Cabury Creme Eggs.

To the rest of my Flist, I hope you have a glorious Sunday and that life treats you kind.

Guess who’s caffeinated??

I know these are [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle’s favorite types of posts, the ones when I am hyped up and deliciously random. Because of this, I have brought out her favorite icon which is a pretty good representation of how I feel right now.

1) I can’t seem to turn off my brain today and the sensor on my “appropriate things to say while at work” seems to be broken.
-Blurting out "I hate this fucking computer" is probably not the smartest idea nor is asking permission to stab someone who laughs like a hyena.
-I do get bonus points for causing my boss to christen her desk with water after one of my more "compelling" statements regarding the stunted mental capacity of some humans.

2)If I read one more headline that shouts: HUGH LAURIE EXPERIMENTED WITH VICODIN one more time I think I may really go on that stabbing spree.

-The caffeine today has already made me shanky, I don’t need the stupidity of the press to tip me over the edge. Seriously, how old is this information? 2 years? Maybe even 3? --HE ADMITED TO TAKING ONE PILL PEOPLE!! IT WAS ONE PILL ONCE!! *facepalm* I give up.

3) Speaking of Hugh. How adorable is he as Dr. Cockroach in the poster for "Monsters VS. Aliens" ?

Photobucket

-It's not like I'm all hot and bothered over the cockroach or anything especially because a) that would be slightly creepy and b) it IS a cockroach! If you’ve ever encountered one you know that they are gross but he does make that nasty little (sometimes huge) insect much more tolerable.
-If only the ones that run rampant in Florida were voiced by a smooth British Gentleman.

4) This has, by far, become one of my favorite pictures and I can’t place a finger on why. I view it like a piece of art; it’s just gorgeous and humbling at the same time. (Wait, does that even make sense. Oh who the hell cares! I love the picture)

Photobucket

5) I love asparagus. Is that strange?

6) It always astounds me that I can still misspell the same words on an email that I send out daily. What’s even worse is that the word "Competitive" has to be typed out twice and the 1st time I get it right; the 2nd time, not so much.
Photobucket

7) The dress I bought that I spoke of my last entry. [livejournal.com profile] nicolejacks wanted a look at it. Not the greatest picture but it’s scrunchy at the top and flowy at the bottom.

Photobucket

OK, I’ll stop babbling now, I think the caffeine is starting to wear off, OFF TO GET MORE!!!

PS- I love you all! Photobucket

NEW YORK - After being surrounded by the dramatic heavyweight stars of the Oscars, Jon Stewart will play host again, this time amid a bevy of comedians.

Stewart will host the second biannual "Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education" on April 13 at the Beacon Theater in New York. The show will air live on Comedy Central (8 p.m. EST).

The night will feature standup routines, sketches and short films from a gluttony of comic talent, including Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler.

It's the second such benefit and was organized in part due to Robert Smigel, whose son, Daniel, is autistic. Smigel's most famous character, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, will also be attendance.

The night will raise money for schools and education programs for autistic children and adults. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the advocacy group Autism Speaks. The first "Night of Too Many Stars," held in October 2006, raised more than $2.6 million.

It was also the first event to air live on Comedy Central. This year's broadcast will also be streamed online the day after. A $1.99 download of the show will be available on iTunes and xBox Live Marketplace, with all proceeds going to charity.

Also appearing will be Matthew Broderick, Jonah Hill, Kevin James, Rosie O'Donnell and Susie Essman.

As most of you know my 5 year old Mikey has Autism which has rendered him non-verbal and learning disabled. He is the light of my life :)

I tell people I meet all the time that everyone knows someone who has been touched by this disease. If you didn't before, you can say it now.

We seriously need some new House episodes as I feel that my brain is starting to short circuit. I've been watching entirely too many movies, especially "Sense and Sensibility" but I digress.

Happy Birthday to my darling Alan Rickman. In addition to Hugh, Alan needs to be my future Baby Grand Daddy

I bringeth a birthday pic!spam that includes dear Hugh as Mr. Palmer because how could I leave him out??!!

Special thanks to the Alan fans at [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt and to [profile] decivitatedei for a number of these pics.

So we're kicking back watching Transformer in HD and I'm cliping coupons. I hear this voice and I'm like, "Honey rewind that scene to the teacher. I know that voice!!"

He rewinds it and YES it's Taub from House aka Peter Jacobson.

He's so funny in his bit part (quite a number of lines too) I love him. And he has hair and classes. Perfect Science or whatever subject teacher.

I tried to find the scene or even a picture but sadly I couldn't find one.

Sorry for my squeeage. I just wasn't expecting it. Kind of like when I was watching "A Fish Called Wanda" and in the end Stephen Fry appeared. Shocked the hell out of me :)
calumfan: (christmaswilson)
I'm afraid to say that I really am not feeling in the Christmas spirit, I have no idea why. I'm just kind of blah; I'm tired, unmotivated and uninspired. That within itself sucks majorly but when you add that Christmas is a scant few days away, that sucks big giant monekey balls!!

I have to give the largest of shout outs to all the lovelies on my flist that have sent me a Christmas card, it's so numerous Im afraid to list you all in case I forget a name out of my sheer stupidity. Let me just say that I am forever grateful and will be thinking of you all each time I look up at my entrance way (Where the cards are taped up)

Congrats to the amazing Hugh Laurie for garnering yet another award nomination, this time a SAG. Good news in addition to his nomination is that although the Golden Globes and Oscars have not been pitied by the WGA, the SAG awards have been granted a waiver and the show will go on :)

These pictures have gone above and beyond making my day!

And can I close this entry by saying to my lovely [personal profile] bonorattle and [profile] starleigh
I don't know what I have done correctly in my life to deserve your friendships (and all my flist for that matter) but I am forever grateful for you. I love you :)

A goodnight/good morning to you all and thank you for everything :D
calumfan: (O.o)
While reading my Google alerts, I came across this little nugget of joy:

Taken from an actual letter/question written to Parade Magazine in the US:
Elizabeth Testerman had this to ask: "People complain about immigrants taking jobs away from us but don't utter a peep about all of the Brits playing Americans on TV, like Hugh Laurie on House. Why do producers hire them?"

Here is me after reading this O.o
Is this person serious?

As sad as it sounds, she totally was.

So I began leafing though this blog which is rather humorous in itself (http://todgoldberg.typepad.com/tod_goldberg/letters_to_parade/index.html)

This passage made me laugh so hard because it could actually be a conversation that my husband and I would have.

And after many conversations over the phone with [livejournal.com profile] bonorattle, I can totally see her and her husband Jimmy having the same type of conversation:

Please note: The "Me" in question would be blogger Tod Goldberg, Wendy being his wife.

Me: You know what I bet?

Wendy: What?

Me: I bet if I stood outside and peed, that it would freeze.

Wendy: It's 45 degrees outside.

Me: Right. But when it cools down, it would freeze.

Wendy: And you intend to sit out there and wait?

Me: Well, no, I'd wait until it got cold enough and then I'd pee outside.

Wendy: Why are we having this conversation?

Me: I'm just saying that if it gets down to freezing tonight I should see if my pee will freeze. I mean, we live in the desert, right? So wouldn't it be interesting if it got so cold in the desert that my pee literally froze? I mean, everyone's always talking about frying an egg on the sidewalk. This would be the opposite.

Wendy:........

Me: I wouldn't want to get frost bite, though. That's a consideration.

Wendy:........

Me: I bet it would also sort of mark my territory, teach Scout [our puppy] that I'm dominant. Though I don't know if frozen pee has the same effect. Hmmm.

Wendy:..........

Me: Anyway, if it gets down to freezing, I'm gonna see about peeing outside.

Wendy: You're an idiot.

Yes, men are this frightening deep *facepalm*

If you are married or in a relationship, you know this already. If you are not yet in this situation, please keep this entry in the back of your mind, it will happen to you one day!!
